Website agreement
Between Finched (Alexander Finch-Starbuck) and the business named below, for the package ticked below. Plain English on purpose — if a line doesn't sit right with you, say so before you sign and we'll sort it out.

Mock-ups are free
I'll build you a demo of your site and send you the link before you pay anything. If you don't like it, you owe me nothing and we're done, no hard feelings.
The one-time fee starts the website
Nothing goes live until the build fee is paid. Once it clears, I publish your site on your own web address and the monthly starts from that day. The build fee covers work already done, so it isn't refundable once the site is live.
The monthly keeps it going
It covers everything listed under “Every month” above, and a change you send me is up within 48 hours, usually sooner. It's billed every month on the same date, and you aren't locked in — you can stop it whenever you want.
If the monthly stops, the changes stop
This is the important one. The day the monthly stops, I stop making changes to your site — no new photos, no new prices, no fixes, no support.
Your site stays online as it is. It doesn't get deleted and it doesn't get taken down out of spite. It freezes: whatever is on it the day you stop is what stays on it.
Two things to know while it's frozen. Your web address has to be renewed every year, and that's yours to pay once the monthly stops — I'll tell you when it's due and can put it in your name. And if I ever can't keep hosting a frozen site, I'll give you 30 days' notice, hand you a copy of the site files, and pass you the web address so you can put it somewhere else.
Start the monthly again any time and I pick the upkeep back up from that day.
How to send me changes
Instagram DM to @finchedhq, unless we agree on something else. Everyday updates are included as often as you need them. New pages, a redesign, or a different kind of site are their own job and get their own price before I start.
Your web address is yours
I register it for you and look after the renewals while the monthly is running. It belongs to your business — ask and I'll transfer it to your own account.
Your stuff stays yours. My build stays mine.
Your photos, logo, words and customer details are yours and always were. You're giving me permission to use them on your site, and telling me you have the right to use them yourself.
The site I build — the design, the code, the way it's put together — stays mine, and you have the right to use it as your website for as long as this agreement is running. Please don't hand it to another developer to copy or rebuild. If you ever want the files to keep, ask and we'll work something out.
I can show your site as my work
I keep the right to show the site I built for you as an example of my work — screenshots, video, before-and-afters, links — on my own website, Instagram, TikTok, or anywhere else I advertise, including tagging your business. I can do that while I'm working with you and after we stop, without asking each time.
What I show is the public website itself. Anything private stays private — see the next term.
What you tell me stays with me
Anything you share with me that isn't already public — prices you haven't published, plans, passwords and logins, your customers' details, our messages, anything personal — stays between you and me. I don't sell it, share it, or hand it to anyone else.
I work alone. Nobody else touches your site or your accounts. I keep your logins only as long as I need them to do the work, and I'll delete them when you ask.
What I need from you
Photos and words you have the right to use, real details (hours, prices, address, phone), and an answer when I ask a question. If I'm waiting on you, the build waits too.
I won't publish anything illegal, stolen, or that I'm not comfortable putting my name near, and I can take it down if it turns up on the site.
What I can't promise
I can't promise you'll show up first on Google, or that the site will bring you a certain number of bookings or sales. What I promise is a real site, looked after, that loads fast and says the right things.
Late payments
If a monthly payment is more than 10 days late, upkeep pauses until it's paid — same as if you'd cancelled. Nothing gets deleted, and catching up starts it again.
Ending it
You can stop the monthly whenever you like, no notice and no fee. Term 4 is what happens next. If I need to stop working with you, I'll give you 30 days' notice, hand over a copy of the site files, and pass the web address to you.
If the price changes
Your prices are the ones ticked and written above, and they stay put for at least a year. After that, if the monthly ever changes I'll tell you 30 days before, and you can keep going or stop.
The paperwork bit
Both pages of this document are the whole agreement between us — anything said before it doesn't count. Changes to it need to be in writing, and a message between the two of us counts as writing. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
